Alexis Pinturault -

At the moment, Alexis Pinturault has no other opponent than bad luck.

She alone is able to stand in the way of the Frenchman in his quest for the big globe.

After going off the track on the Giant of Cortina, Pintu, then in contention to play the win on the Giant of Basko, quickly lost a stick in the second round.

He miraculously held on and achieved an honorable time that allowed him to get 4th place, only going back a notch from his first race.

It was finally the Croatian Filip Zubcic who won with 0.4 seconds ahead of the world champion Mathieu Faivre and 0.93 seconds over the Austrian Stefan Brennsteiner.

At the foot of the podium, Pinturault beat his rival in the overall standings, Marco Odermatt.

The Swiss finished in 5th place and still loses ground on the French.

Good news in an ocean of bad luck.
