Syrian official requests reconsideration of Omar Khreibin's sentence of "life deprivation"

The President of the General Sports Federation in Syria, Firas Mualla, expressed his hope that the Football Association in his country will be restored, considering the penalty that was imposed last November, by depriving Omar Khreibin for a lifetime of participating with the Syrian national team.

"I wish to reconsider the penalty imposed on Khribin," Mualla said in statements to the Syrian "Al-Akhbariya" channel, indicating that the Syrian Football Association is called upon to achieve the goal that Syrian football fans aim for, by qualifying the "Nusour Qasiyoun" team for the 2022 World Cup.

He explained, "If the Syrian national team did not qualify for the 2022 World Cup, the Syrian Football Association must resign."
