Even in times of the corona pandemic, transfers are the order of the day in professional football.

Players change clubs and there are still high transfer fees.

The move of the Italian junior international Alessandro Arlotti is something special: The 18-year-old is going to the USA.

Arlotti is not only leaving his home country, but also professional football.

For the time being, Arlotti decided against the supposedly big money and decided to study.

The Italian left the second division club Delfino Pescara to study at the elite American university Harvard.

But Arlotti will also remain loyal to football in Cambridge.

The teenager plays for the university team, Harvard Crimson.

Arlotti, who has played eight games for the Italian U17 and three for the U18 national team, could use his time at the elite university alongside his studies to recommend himself for a team in the American professional league MLS.

It is common practice in the USA for clubs to draft players from the country's universities.
