Thierry Henry and Montreal, it's over.

The French coach has decided to leave the Canadian franchise for "family reasons," the MLS club announced on Thursday.

The former French international (43), a time quoted to take over the English club Bournemouth (D2) who finally opted for another technician, explained that he was unable to see his children, who remained in the United Kingdom, in due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The separation is too painful for me and my children"

"It is with a heavy heart that I decided to make this decision," Henry said in a statement.

The past year has been extremely difficult for me personally.

Due to the global pandemic, I couldn't see my children.

Unfortunately, due to the restrictions in place and the fact that we will have to relocate to the United States again for a few months, the situation will be no different.

The separation is too painful for me and my children.

I must therefore make the decision to return to London and leave CF Montreal.
