Cruise control, keyless start ... Equipment reserved for cars is arriving on motorcycles

The innovation of the day is new for comfort and safety on motorcycles.

With the arrival of equipment that until now was only found on cars.

For example: cruise control and blind spot warning.

Technologies that we will find on the latest models announced by BMW, Ducati and KTM.

They are equipped with a radar at the front which will analyze the traffic and adapt the motorcycle speed to that of the vehicle in front of you.

So on the highway, or on a walk with friends, we will be much more relaxed.

It is the bike that will manage the brake and the accelerator on its own. 

There is also a second radar at the rear, to receive an alert if you are being overtaken or if a car is approaching a little too close.

Again, it's just like cars.

This avoids turning around and taking your eyes off the road. 

Is there other equipment that goes, like that, from two to four wheels?

Yes, more and more.

It started with ABS a few years ago.

Then came the airbags-vests.

Today, we see the arrival of keyless start and cruise control.

And tomorrow, we are already talking about the white line crossing alert and emergency braking. 

It is not a question of making the motorcycle crush (the driver could make a glide).

We will instead cut the accelerator and trigger the alarm to wake up the most distracted.

Technologies that start, as always, at the top of the range.

And that we will find, little by little, on all models. 

Will we end up having autonomous motorcycles?

Imagine that most builders work on it.

But as with cars, the objective is above all to assist the driver and to take over in the event of a big problem.
