Golf superstar Tiger Woods suffered "multiple open fractures" to his right leg on Tuesday in a serious traffic accident near Los Angeles that could cast doubt on the rest of his career at 45.
In a statement posted on his Twitter account, the medical team that operated on him specified the extent of his injuries and detailed the surgeries performed after the accident which a police officer said had "had a lot of chance to get out alive ”.

A rod in the tibia and screws in the ankle
The "Tiger" suffered "multiple open fractures" to his right leg that required him to insert a metal rod into the tibia and screws to strengthen the bones of the foot and ankle, the statement said.
“He is awake, conscious and resting” in the hospital, adds the text, without specifying the duration of his hospitalization or even any long-term consequences.
The golf legend suffered a serious accident on Tuesday morning, shortly after 7:00 a.m.
Alone at the wheel of his car near Los Angeles, he made a road exit and several rollovers.
Rescue workers had to use a specialized tool and ax to extract Tiger Woods from his car, which was then evacuated to hospital, Los Angeles Fire Chief Chief Daryl Osby told a press conference. .
