This was announced by the sheriff's office in Los Angeles County.
Woods was alone on a street in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning when his car had an accident for an initially unknown cause, the police department said.
The superstar had to be cut out of the car and was hospitalized.
A call to his agent was initially unanswered, and nothing is known about the severity of the injuries.
