Calvin Stengs resumed training at AZ on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old attacker missed the away match against VVV-Venlo (1-4) last weekend due to illness, but has now recovered from it.

Stengs did not yet join his teammates on Tuesday, but completed an individual program.

It is still uncertain whether he will be fit in time for Sunday's home game against Feyenoord.

That match is a clash between the numbers three and four in the rankings.

AZ has a lead of four points over the team from Rotterdam, but they will play a catch-up game against FC Groningen in the Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The

Noordhollands Dagblad

reported last Thursday that Stengs was infected with the corona virus, but that has not been confirmed by AZ.

The winger is in his most productive season in his still fledgling career: he now has six goals in twenty Eredivisie matches.

In the previous, canceled season, the counter for Stengs stopped at five hits.

The top match between AZ and Feyenoord starts on Sunday at 4.45 pm in the AFAS Stadium and is led by referee Björn Kuipers.

Last month, AZ won the away match in De Kuip against Feyenoord with 2-3.
