Under normal conditions, the ski jumping season starts in early December.

But this year the season was significantly shorter, and in the beginning it was hard for the Swedish talent, Astrid Norstedt.

Despite this, based on the results of the recent competitions, she has a positive attitude towards the world championships in Oberstdorf, Germany.

- Back jumping is a sport where it goes very fast, and it changes very fast.

It can go really bad.

But then on a jump you are with again, and at a good level.

It feels exciting what I have to come up with, she says.

Future competitions depend on World Cup performance

The current corona pandemic has thinned out the season for the female ski jumpers.

Among other things, it was thought that it would compete in Norway after the World Cup, something that was unfortunately canceled.

On the other hand, a competition was added in Ramsau, Austria, in mid-December.

For Norstedt, there have been some competitions since the start of the season on January 14, including JVM in Lahti.

But what does it look like for the Swedish talent after the World Cup?

- The tournament in Russia in March is the only one left then.

We have not decided whether we will go or not.

We will see what I come up with during the World Cup, she says.

It depends on your World Cup performance if you come to Russia?

- Yes.
