Video: A Syrian professional scored in the first appearance in the Argentine League

Syrian player Pablo Sabbagh (who has a Colombian nationality) made his mark strongly in his debut with his new club Estudiantes, by scoring his first goal in the Argentine League with Godoy Cruz.

The Syrian Al-Khobar website said that Sabbagh (24 years old) started the match on the bench, but he did not hesitate to invest the opportunity that was given to him to enter a substitute in the 81st minute, after he succeeded in less than eight minutes to visit the net, scoring his first goal in the league. The Argentine, and the second for his team against Godoy Cruz in a meeting held for the second week of the League Championship.


Sabbagh, whose roots go back to the city of Marmarita in the Syrian province of Homs, joined his new club "Estudiantes", coming from the Colombian "Aikidad" team, to be the second player of Syrian origins in the Argentine league, after Khalil Elias, as Pablo Sabbagh previously represented Colombia youth team.

The site indicated that Sabbagh addressed the administration of the Syrian Football Association to request a deadline before making a decision to commit to the first Syrian team and to represent it in the upcoming benefits.
