Her daughter first uploaded the fitness videos to Instagram and soon also to TikTok.
The response was overwhelming.
When, on the day after Joe Biden's inauguration as the new US President, US television broadcast a report about the 81-year-old from Langenfeld in the Rhineland, the hype really started.
One of their videos alone was viewed 9.6 million times.
"I don't want to praise myself," she says, "but my fitness and flexibility can be compared to that of 60-year-olds."
