The CAF refuses to postpone the match between Zamalek and Tonjeet in the Champions League

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) rejected the Egyptian club Zamalek's request to postpone the team’s match against its Senegalese host Tongit in the second round of the African Champions League group stage, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday.

The Egyptian club stated on its official website today, Monday, that (CAF) based its refusal on the arrival of the White Castle mission to Senegal, more than 24 hours before the match, which it considered did not fall under the emergency circumstance.

The team’s mission had been suspended in Algeria amid the refusal of the club’s plane to enter the air route from Algeria to Senegal, before the Zamalek administration intervened by making contacts with all responsible parties to resolve the crisis.

The team is preparing to face Senegalese Tongit in the match scheduled for Tuesday, in the second round of the group stage matches of the African Champions League.

Zamalek had started his tournament with a goalless draw with its guest, the Algerian capital, Ittihad, in Cairo, in the first round of the fourth group, which includes Senegalese Tongit and Tunisia's Esperance.
