Former national soccer player Christoph Metzelder has to go to court.

According to Monday's announcement, the court has admitted the prosecutor's indictment.

Accordingly, Metzelder denies the allegations.

The hearing at the Düsseldorf District Court is to begin on April 29th.

The investigators accuse the 40-year-old of having attempted to give a person possession of child pornography in 29 cases.

In addition, one case is charged with possession of child and youth pornography.

So far, the district court has set three dates for the process until mid-May.

For Metzelder, the presumption of innocence applies until a final decision in the criminal proceedings.
