One gold, two silver and three bronze.

This is Sweden's medal harvest - so far.

Despite the fact that two competitions remain, this is the best championship the national biathlon team has ever done.

SVT Sports expert Björn Ferry sees a reason for the success.

- Super talents like Hanna Öberg, Elivra Öberg, Sebastian Samuelsson and Martin Ponsiluoma do not grow on trees.

That so many talents belong to the same national team at the same time, I think that explains the majority of these results, he says.

Sweden medals in this World Cup

The first medal came already in the first competition, where it was a bronze for Sweden in the mixed relay after Hanna Öberg's fight against Ukraine.

Martin Ponsiluoma followed it up by taking gold in the sprint.

Then it was silver for Sebastian Samuelsson in the hunt start, silver for Hanna Öberg in the distance and bronze for the duo in the single mixed relay.

The Swedish men's team then took a historic silver medal in relay.

It was namely the best placement a Swedish men's team has had in a relay at the World Cup.

The championship which is now the second best

The WC in Ruhpolding 2012 was the championship that was most successful until this year.

Then Sweden took five medals.

Carl Johan Bergman took bronze in the sprint and followed it up with a silver in the hunt start.

In the men's mass start, it was double on the podium, Björn Ferry took silver and Fredrik Lindström won the bronze.

On the women's side, Helena Ekholm took bronze in the distance.
