Sweden's corners were behind several important goals in the European Championship qualifiers last year.

When Sweden started the national team year 2021, two of the first three Swedish goals came just around the corner.

Linda Sembrant scored her 14th national team goal of her career, when she opened the scoring in the 20th minute.

However, Austria's reply came just four minutes later when Virginia Kirchberger equalized - also after a corner.

Then Fridolina Rolfö did a lot of shopping.

She made it 2-1 after 33 minutes, and passed elegantly to Filippa Angeldahl's 4-1 just before half time.

In between, Lina Hurtig had also made it 3-1 after a corner.

Sweden's 4-1 at the break was even a little on the low side, as there were more situations for goal scoring.

But there were several Swedish goals.

Rolfö went out with a claim for damages

The second half was only ten minutes old when Fridolina Rolfö scored her second goal of the match, until 5-1, after Sofia Jakobsson's performance.

Shortly afterwards, Rolfö was forced to retire due to injury, after a duel where she did not feel in the back - which led to national team debut for Häcken's Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.

It was another Swedish goal in the match when Sofia Jakobsson shot 6-1.

Jakobsson's 23rd national team goal in the 119th international match.

The ball was sent in high over the penalty box and, in what looked like a well-rehearsed move, it was headed backwards to reach Nathalie Björn, who placed it into the net with a single touch.

Sweden made several changes in the match - where, among other things, Kristianstad's Josefine Rybrink also made her national team debut, when she changed from Nilla Fischer.

The mini-tournament in Malta previously replaces the Algarve Cup, and in the next match Sweden will face Malta - that match will also be broadcast live on SVT on Tuesday.
