The Takano Ren = Japan High School Baseball Federation has decided to introduce a tie-break system that makes it easier to settle in overtime in the finals of spring and summer Koshien and local tournaments, which were not covered until now.

In high school baseball, in order to reduce the burden on players, a tie-break system was introduced in which attacks are started from first base and second base with no out after the 13th extension from the Senbatsu tournament three years ago.

However, there was a voice saying "I want you to exclude the final that will take the championship", so we played the rules as usual up to 15 times overtime, and if we could not settle, we decided to draw again.

The Takano Ren held a board meeting on the 19th, and decided to introduce the finals of the spring and summer Koshien and local tournaments, which had not been covered so far, because the tie-break system has become widespread.

Introduced from Senbatsu

This year's Senbatsu High School Baseball, which will start on the 19th of next month, will be the first tournament to be held under the new rules.

In addition, the board of directors has set up a trial period of three years from last spring, and has set up a new working group to verify the effect of limiting the number of pitches per pitcher to 500 or less per week. It was launched in.

The Takano Ren's medical science committee, who also participated in the meeting of experts when introducing the ball number limit, has 14 members including Dr. Takashi Masatomi, who specializes in orthopedics, and will meet about three times a year until March next year. We plan to discuss measures to raise the awareness of leaders.

Yoshimasa Ogura, Executive Director of the Takano Ren, said, "All of these are measures to reduce the burden on athletes, and while exchanging information with the Takano Ren of the prefectures, we would like to help prevent injuries to athletes."
