The Vasaloppet 2021 will be different due to Covid-19.

But the race will be arranged on Sunday, March 7 with only elite skiers.

About 300 men and 100 women will be allowed to start.

On behalf of SVT, Ida Ingemarsdotter will be this year's traveling reporter.

The former Swedish long-distance star, who has both the World Cup and Olympic gold in his luggage, will try to turn his back on the women's elite and deliver reports to viewers along the 90km long distance.

- I will try to convey and perhaps not an understanding of how well-trained and talented these individuals are, says Ida Ingemarsdotter.

Two years ago she put the skis on the shelf

In 2019, the 35-year-old ended her active career but has kept the training going quite well in recent years, yet she is cautiously humble in her analysis of the daily form.

- It is not as it was two years ago, they are definitely not, but of course I keep going and train but I would not say that they are about elite training, says Ida Ingemarsdotter.

Great respect for the little lady

While she herself is doubtful about her own capacity, she is full of admiration for the girls she will now try to turn her back on.

- I am very humble before the task, they are fantastically well trained and I see that I will have to tear dog, says Ida Ingemarsdotter.

If you can decide the conditions around before then how would you like them?

-

I want good before, nice before which is favorable for me, says Ida Ingemarsdotter with a smile.
