Before the match, Hammarby was one point from a playoff spot while Motala in turn played to secure a place in the playoffs.

It was Hammarby who started the match best.

After just under 23 minutes, they led 3-0.

The last goal came after a penalty that was well managed by Hammarby's shooting league leader Christoffer Fagerström.

But five minutes before half time, Motala reduced to 3-1 through captain Fredrik Lönn.

At the beginning of the second half, Hammarby received another penalty.

Also this time it was Christoffer Fagerström who stepped forward and was able to set the 4-1 goal.

Kasper Milerud then scored Hammarby's fifth and sixth goals, in between Motala managed to reduce to 5-2 after an own goal.

In the end, Hammarby was able to score his seventh goal after a corner through captain Robin Sundin.

The last goal of the match was scored by Ivan Lebedev, his second in the match for Hammarby.

The final result was 8-2 and Hammarby thus took up the playoff spot.
