Bill is nearing the end of his career ... and his agent: Ask Mourinho why!

Welsh superstar Gareth Bale does not play many matches with his new-old club, Tottenham, as he is nearing the end of his title-laden career, his agent Jonathan Barnett said Wednesday.

The speedy winger had returned to Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid last September.

The 31-year-old, however, has only played twice out of 22 matches in coach Jose Mourinho's squad.

Last week, Mourinho questioned a comment by Bale on social media in which he considered that he was in good health, despite his lack of availability to play a cup match, which his team lost against Everton.

And why Bale did not participate much after his return to Tottenham, Barnett said at a business conference on the football industry, "He is nearing the end of his career. Really, you should ask Mourinho about that."

Barnett defended the career of his professional player, who has won twice in the Spanish League and four times in the Champions League: "When they say - what happened to him? - they have won more titles abroad than any British player in history."

He continued, "He has made abundant material gains and has enough money for the rest of his life. His way of life is good, and this is what happened to him."

Bale joined Tottenham at the age of 17 from Southampton in 2007, before moving on to a huge deal to the Santiago Bernabeu six years later.
