Jonas Deichmann has everything he needs with him.

Whether he's swimming through the Adriatic Sea, cycling over snow-covered passes or struggling through America later in the year on foot - the 33-year-old from Munich is on his own in his triathlon around the world.

A soft mattress in the evening to rest from the stresses of each day?

Rare.

Since Deichmann left Munich at the end of September, he has mostly slept in the open air.

October 31, Makarska:

Four days and 51 kilometers with perfect conditions lie behind Deichmann: warm, sunny, no wind and no waves.

Instead a breathtaking coastline with beaches and mountains.

“And I saw dolphins,” he says about the eleven kilometers that day.

He got used to swimming in the Adriatic.

Chafing, cuts and

jellyfish stings are annoying

, but the technique and the feeling of water have become significantly better.

With that, his pace, he can manage 2.3 kilometers per hour with his raft attachment.

December 11, Istanbul:

Deichmann is stuck in Turkey.
