The ninth of March begins the first of six intense days for the Swedish national handball team, when they are placed in a European Championship qualifier against Montenegro.

Then a bus trip to Berlin awaits, where Solberg's squad will face Germany, Algeria and Slovenia.

Three tough nations.

During these days, the Swedish national team will also not have many training sessions.

Despite that, there has been no focus on taking out a B-team before the match against Montenegro to focus on the Olympic qualifiers.

- We must do the best we can these six days, under the conditions that we have as healthy legs as possible, he says.

Ekberg back in Blågult

Solberg has picked up world player Niclas Ekberg, who after a two-year absence is making a comeback in the Swedish national team.

This means that he also picks the silver team's youngest player, Valter Chrintz, on the right.

- Niclas is one of the best in the world in his position and not only has an incredible top level but also an enormous amount of experience.

It was with a heavy heart that I called Valter and told him he was not coming.

He is a fantastic player and person, he says.

Solberg's goal picture is clear

Solberg's ambition with the developed national team is clear.

There are many national teams that are constantly getting better, and it is an incredibly high level that the national team must reach.

He says that they have started a journey that he thinks can be very exciting.

- We do not have easy weeks ahead of us, but we have good opportunities.

I have chosen these players, and I believe in them.

I am motivated to develop the Swedish national team, he says.

Solberg also says that he does not see Sweden as a favorite.

- The day we play for a medal in every championship, then we can talk about being favorites.

But not yet, he says.
