This is the first time that individual parallels have been seen in the WC format.

Before the race, Sara Hector was the favorite tipped among the Swedes.

But when she faced Lara Gut-Behrami, she was 77 percent behind.

In this format, however, it does not matter if you end up after your opponent, as they are the eight fastest riders from the blue and red lanes, respectively.

However, Sweden will bring Estelle Alphand as the sole skier to the afternoon final.

- After many heavy efforts where it did not work for her, she gets a little success in qualifying for this wasp nest, says SVT's commentator Johan Ejeborg.

Yesterday, Alphand could have placed very well in the combination, she had taken in one hundredth of the winner Mikaela Shiffrin, when she drove out.

Today, Alphand advanced to the final in sixth place, 61 percent behind Slovakia, Meta Hrovat.

It was not only Sara Hector who did not advance, but Jonna Luthman was also knocked out, with eleventh time in the qualifiers.

This means that one in three Swedish skiers is on to the finals.

- We take what we get, we were a bit depressed here because it was Sara Hector who started first.

We saw quite clearly that this would be a little close on the hair, but that Estelle Alphand is involved, fun, says SVT's expert Pernilla Wiberg.
