The competitions in the Czech Republic on February 20-21 would have been a genre rehearsal for the World Ski Championships in Germany, which will begin the following week.

If active people competed in Nove Mesto, it would have meant that they had to be quarantined for five to ten days on arrival in Germany and thus missed large parts of the championship.

- We understand that it is a priority for all national teams to participate in the world championships, says the organizer of the Nove Mesto competition to AP.

Germany's decision to classify the Czech Republic as a high-risk country for the new mutant variant of the corona virus makes it impossible to conduct the competitions.

However, the Swedish and Norwegian national teams had previously decided to forgo the trip to the Czech Republic due to the contagion situation in Europe.

Fis hopes to be able to include the canceled competitions in the program after the World Cup instead, but nothing is clear at the moment.
