The campaign caused a huge sensation, not only within the sports industry: the fitness studio chain McFit surprisingly opened ten outdoor gyms in ten German cities last weekend.

In the fitness scene, many saw this as a sensation; criticism came from politics.

McFit boss Rainer Schaller talks about his motivations and the needs of the fitness industry.

WORLD:

Who did you personally get reactions from - and how did they turn out?

Rainer Schaller:

I have received countless messages about this - the overwhelming majority of it positive.

They came from very different people: from normal members to competitors.

In the USA I received particularly nice feedback from actor and action star Carl Weathers: He was overjoyed that he can now train again thanks to our outdoor gym in Venice Beach.

He is 72 years old and wants to keep himself as fit and healthy as possible - also with regard to Corona, of course.

WORLD:

Four of the initially ten outdoor studios had to close again on Saturday after the public order office employees visited, and more had to close on Tuesday.

Did that surprise you?

Or did you factor in a few quick closings?
