The first quarter-final between Leipzig and Liverpool was played on a neutral level, specifically in Budapest, after being relocated due to German corona restrictions.

Leipzig started briskly but Liverpool then took over the match picture more and more.

Despite that, the first half ended 0-0.

After 53 minutes, Liverpool took the lead through Mohamed Salah.

And just five minutes later, Sadio Mané was able to extend to 0-2 after a defensive miss from Leipzig.

A result that also stood up to the final signal.

The return meeting will be played on March 10.
