The Swedish skcross riders Sandra Näslund and Alexandra Edebo come from messy seasons.

Näslund has had problems with one knee and has not made any races in the World Cup and Edebo crashed and suffered a concussion just before Christmas.

Despite that, both came to the start when the World Cup at home in Idre was decided on Saturday and it was hard to believe that they were even injured.

The Swedes impressed directly in the quarterfinals where they were totally superior.

Sandra Näslund did not seem to feel her knee at all and drove away from her opponents directly and easily won, among other things, before the reigning world champion Marielle Thompson who did not even advance to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, however, it would be difficult for Edebo.

She immediately fell behind and finished last.

- I think it was a tactical mistake by Edebo, she should have tried to drive on the left side, says SVT's expert Lars Lewén.

But Sandra Näslund would easily go to the final and she crushed her opposition again when she from start to finish led the race by many meters.

In the final, Näslund would be ruggedly fast from the start again, but Fanny Smith from Switzerland would catch up with the Swede quite immediately.

But Näslund was able to persevere despite the fact that Smith repeatedly challenged her and Sandra Näslund took home the gold.

In the small final, Edebo crashed just before the goal and she thus became a total of eight in the World Cup.
