Boston scored the only goal of the match, halfway into the match.

Nick Ritchie managed to find a small gap on Igor Sjestiorkin's left post.

It was a bit annoying between the teams, and in the second period alone, the referee showed 13 players to the penalty box.

- They played a little harder (in the second period), and so did we.

It was a tough match, says Kaapo Kakko.

Problems with powerplay

Brendan Lemieux and Trent Frederic smoked together and fought wildly.

Pavel Butjnevich and Jeremy Lauzon also both managed to be expelled for fights before the period was over.

- The expulsions made no difference.

I have to play the game and stop the pucks.

So the expulsions do neither to nor from, Sjestiorkin said after the match.

New York Rangers coach David Quinn has a lot to think about, as the team has obvious problems scoring goals in numerical superiority.

- We pass when we should shoot, and shoot when we should pass.

We make bad decisions and we are slow.

We will not get anywhere with the way powerplay clicks and looks, he says.

Still heavy for Zibanejad

Swedish star forward Mika Zibanejad played 24 minutes during the match, but did not manage to get a shot on goal.

Zibanejad scored a record number of goals last season, including scoring five against Washington in a high-profile match in March.

Now he is much heavier, and has not scored a single goal in the last ten games, and a pitiful assist.
