The plug looks like it's gone for Florida's Alexander Wennerberg.

After two assist points in their first eight matches this year, the Swedish center has now scored in three straight matches.

In the derby against Tampa Bay, there was also a passing point.

Wennberg himself highlights his chain mates Jonatahan Huberdeau and Patric Hörnqvist as a key to success.

- Of course I play in a good chain, tonight I got a good pass from Huberdeau, Wennberg says to Fox Sports.

- But I do not know, it's a little more self-confidence, a little luck, and just to be drawn in, he continues.

"We did the job"

Florida entered the second period with a 1-0 lead, and stepped off it with 4-1 in the back.

That was also when Wennberg's goal came.

Huberdeau got the puck from Hörnqvist in a counterattack, brought it into the attack zone and freed Wennberg, who came on speed and had no problem outsmarting Andrej Vasilevsky in Tampa Bay's goal.

- I do not know if there is anything special behind that period, we play well now, we worked hard in others and we did the job, says Wennberg.

Florida's victory put an end to Tampa Bay's winning streak, which ends in six straight wins.

The team missed star Steven Stamkos, who is said to have an injury to his lower body.

Victor Hedman suited both of the team's goals, both of which were scored by Brayden Point.

Meet twice more

The teams will meet again twice in the next few days, and Wennberg knows that today's victory does not mean much then.

- This was a good test, but it was just a match and we will meet again.

A match says nothing and now we have to make an equally good effort in two days, he says and is supported by his coach Joel Quenneville.

- We had the speed, we won the duels.

I think it was a really good match right through.

The next match will be a bigger challenge, but we will play just like today, with energy and determination, says Quenneville.
