Pinturault started the World Cup with a bronze in super-G on Thursday and has a medal chance in everything he competes in. He is one of the greats in World Cup history with 33 wins.

His mother comes from the Norwegian coastal city of Bergen where he spent a lot of time.

In addition, he has citizenship in both Norway and France, which he represents on the slopes.

Pinturault had a conflict with its own French ski association for a while, much like Henrik Kristoffersen has it today, and now runs under his own auspices.

"France is not a ski nation"

- Norway is a big ski nation while France has fantastic facilities but it is not a ski nation, says Pinturault who did not take the step to change nation.

- Even though I have asked myself the question and had it in mind, it has only been a thought that I have not really thought about fully because it has not been necessary, says Pinturault to NRK, proud of his Norwegian heritage.

- Even though I am French, I would have been proud to wear the Norwegian colors.

Even if I do not wear them, I have them in my heart, says Pinturault.
