In November 2017, after only a few months at the helm of the Lille team, Marcelo Bielsa was dismissed by the northern club.

The Argentinian is now claiming more than 18 million euros.

The case was brought before the Conseil des Prud'hommes on Friday.  

Marcelo Bielsa is not a man to give up easily.

The former Lille coach wants to settle his accounts with his former employer.

The Argentinian claims more than 18 million euros in compensation at Losc for a dismissal which, he believes, has damaged his image and his notoriety.

During his hearing at the Prud'hommes, his presentation seems to have been freshly received.

The Argentinian coach was not physically present but he took over from his lawyers to defend his cause.

After three quarters of an hour of a little laborious plea by video-conference, in Spanish with simultaneous translation, one can wonder if the former coach of Losc has convinced the Labor Council of the unfair nature of his dismissal.

As a reminder, the northern club had fallen to 19th position in the Ligue 1 standings at that time.

Marcelo Bielsa claims to have been the victim of harassment from Lille leaders.

"I had to be destabilized to force me to resign," he storms.

But the coach gets lost in his explanations, evokes his disagreements on player transfers, overwhelms the recruiting manager at the time, Luis Campos.

After 45 minutes of monologue on the secrets of football, the president of the Conseil des Prud'hommes finally cuts him off.

Frustrated and annoyed, the man nicknamed "El loco" concludes: "I suffered assaults and you will not allow me to complete my presentation!"

Previously, the technician's advice had pleaded the validity of a pre-contract authorizing him to claim nearly 19 million euros in compensation.

Losc's lawyer brushes aside the argument, saying that the official contract filed with the Professional League did not include this clause.

He adds that Marcelo Bielsa is "anything but a victim".

The Prud'hommes judgment will be rendered on July 2.
