Suspicion of bribery over invitation

In December 2018, a French court took steps to decide whether to hold a trial for former JOC Chairman Tsunekazu Takeda, who was the chairman of the Bid Committee on suspicion of bribery over the bid for the Tokyo Games. It became clear that the trial judge had heard Mr. Takeda himself in France.

Former Chairman Takeda held a press conference in January 2019 and insisted on his innocence, but in March he announced that he would resign as Chairman, saying, "I am very sorry for making a noise this time."

Marathon / racewalking relocation to Sapporo
