Mikaela Shiffrin won the super-G in the WC in Åre 2019. But when she stood at the start of the super-G in Cortina, she had not run the discipline in one year.

She made a real mistake on the hill.

- I ended up too far out, and there it is a little more loose in the snow.

It made me lose all speed to the finish.

But in any case it was great fun to ski, says Shiffrin to SVT Sport.

Shiffrin was in the lead when she made the mistake.

Despite that, she managed to pick up a bronze medal.

Shiffrin, who is a five-time World Cup gold medalist, had a competition break of about ten months in 2020 after her father had passed away.
