Finalist of the last edition, Saint-Etienne was eliminated as soon as he entered the round of 16 of the Coupe de France.
His executioner: Sochaux, resident of Ligue 2, winner 1 to 0 Thursday in extreme weather conditions.
By a temperature close to -10 degrees, the FCSM, seventh in the second division, was arch-dominated but cracked ASSE, 15th in L1, thanks to a goal scored by Chris Bedia at the start of the match (5th) .
