Canal + is making room for rugby.

The encrypted channel, which has recovered the rights to ten Ligue 1 matches thanks to its agreement with the LFP, has obtained to advance the Saturday night poster at 1 p.m., the League announced on Wednesday.

"This new schedule allows Ligue 1 Uber Eats to offer the widest possible exposure on the channels of the Canal + Group, the exclusive broadcaster of the competition until the end of the season," explained the LFP in a press release. .

For Canal, it is a way of passing the pill on to the Rugby League.

Indeed, the chain, to make room for the Sunday evening poster, had to shift the shock of the weekend from Top 14 to Saturday evening.

By advancing football, it allows its subscribers not to have to choose between the two sports.

The two main Ligue 1 posters will henceforth be broadcast on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 9 p.m.
