The successive arrivals this winter of the American Catarina Macario (21) and the Spaniard Damaris Egurrola (21) did not therefore mean that OL wanted to ensure the immediate succession of Amandine Henry.

The 13th season of the 31-year-old midfielder under the Lyon colors will indeed not be her last, since she has just extended the adventure this Wednesday until 2023, plus an optional year.

After the extensions of Sarah Bouhaddi (until 2024), Dzsenifer Marozsan (2023), then more recently Ada Hegerberg (2024) and Griedge Mbock (2024), OL are therefore keen on their executive players, who notably contributed to winning the last five Champions Leagues.

Victim of a muscle injury to the left calf, Saturday against Montpellier (2-1), which deprives her of the Tournoi de France with the Bleues, Amandine Henry played 293 games with OL (66 goals) and 93 with the team of France.

Recently elected to the 2020 team of the year by UEFA, along with five other Lyon players, the native of Lille is delighted to continue her career with OL: “Lyon has become in a way my second city of birth.

I still want to win titles here and pass my experience on to the younger ones so that the club remains at the top ”.

Catarina Macario (21) and the Spaniard Damaris Egurrola (21) are warned: Amandine Henry does not intend to give up her place as indisputable holder anytime soon.
