China News Service, February 9th. A few days ago, the World Curling Federation announced that the 2021 Women's Curling World Championships originally scheduled to be held in Switzerland from March 19 to 28 local time will be cancelled.

The reason is that under the shadow of the epidemic, the local health department does not support holding international events.

According to the original plan, this competition involved qualification for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The World Curling Federation stated that it would work out an alternative to the Winter Olympics qualification as soon as possible.

Currently, the World Curling Federation is seeking the opinions of stakeholders and partners. Possible solutions include rescheduling the World Championships or replacing them with other Olympic qualifying games.

In addition, the 2021 World Men's Curling Championships and the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships will continue as planned. In the coming weeks, relevant information for each event will be announced.
