Almida de Val and Oskar Eriksson were directly qualified for the final after winning the group stage, and held the favorite pressure in the final.

They took command early and despite Westman / Ahlberg chasing well, they never lost their grip on Val / Eriksson.

- This is very fun.

It was great fun to play today, says Almida de Val in SVT after the victory and continues:

- This is our first season together.

We have gotten into it quickly and we have good communication.

Beat the siblings in the semis

The Swedish Championships in mixed doubles, which became an Olympic sport in 2018, was decided at the national arena in Jönköping.

Therese Westman, daughter of Swedish curling legend Anette Norberg and Robin Ahlberg made it to the finals by beating siblings Isabella Wranå and Rasmus Wranå 11-4.

But in the final against Amida de Val and Oskar Eriksson, who also plays in team Niklas Edin, Westman / Ahlberg did not have much to oppose.

Brought the game from the beginning

Already after three rounds, they led Val / eriksson 5-0.

But in the fourth round, Westman / Ahlberg started to work their way back into the match and fixed two points.

It was followed by another point in the fifth round and it was match again.

But in the sixth round, de Val / Eriksson were again the strongest.

They took a double and Westman / Ahlberg were bad again.

Then they could not turn around in the final and de Val / Eriksson won 7-4.

- We had a plan to get out of it and then it felt like we had nothing to lose, says Almida de Val about the end.
