Djurgården has not won at home since December 30 when they beat Luleå 5-3.

And there was no trend break against Växjö either.

SHL's top scorer Emil Pettersson struck twice and decided the match at Hovet.

- Really nice to win.

Djurgården is one of the teams in the league that competes the hardest, so I think we should give ourselves a pat on the back.

And then it feels like it was 100 years since we won at the Court, says Emil Pettersson to C More.

Not really a hundred - but well over three years.

The victory was the Lakers' first at Johanneshov's Ice Stadium since November 2017. At that time, Emil Pettersson's little brother and Vancouver star Elias Pettersson scored one of the goals.

Now Emil is also following in his brother's footsteps and will make his national team debut in the Beijer Hockey Games next week.

Hans Växjö also tops the table, and is SHL's strongest team.

Växjö has won or taken points in every match since December 28 - which is a very strong suite.

Heavy debut for the new acquisition

Djurgården also consolidated its position, but on the lower half of the table.

Ryan Stoa, the new acquisition from HV71, also made his debut in Djurgården.

It was not a very fun debut for Stoa, who did not get the puck on the defensive blue line in the origin until Emil Pettersson made 2-1 for Växjö.

- It costs to tinker with the puck.

The first and third period is okay, but we offer them some simple goals, says Djurgård coach Robert Ohlsson to Cmore.
