Last weekend, 22-year-old Johanna Hagström finished fourth in Falun's World Cup sprint, her first final place since third place in Cogne 2019 (when all the best riders were missing).

But the week has still not been her best.

The reason is that she had problems with the trachea, and therefore risked missing this weekend's competitions in Ulricehamn - the last competitions in the World Cup before the World Cup.

As recently as yesterday, she told SVT Sport that there was a risk that she would be forced to stand over.

Last international chance

But on Saturday morning, a positive message came: She will run today's sprint, something she confirms herself for SVT Sport.

This weekend's competitions are Sweden's last in the World Cup before the World Cup, and therefore the last chance to prove its form in international competition.

- Of course it is important, but last weekend was perhaps even more important.

But it is a team sprint tomorrow that is very interesting to watch, says national team manager Anders Byström to SVT Sport.

Will we see the thinking World Cup team there?

- It is not certain, but we will see a little how it goes today.

We want to go for victory here, that's important.

What does Hagström need to do this weekend to get a World Cup place?

- It would be fun if she could show what she did last weekend.

But she has had some problems with the trachea this week, so we'll see how it works today.

It is important to show something this weekend as well, it is a home World Cup and we really want to beat those who come here.

- There are some World Cup places that are still open, we also have a Swedish Championships so we are waiting for that and present the squad on Thursday.
