The first round of the Australian Open has been drawn and for Swedish Elias Ymer, the road ahead in the tournament will be difficult.

The 24-year-old will meet Diego Schwartzman, ranked ninth in the world, directly.

The charge ahead of this year's first Grand Slam has not been optimal for Ymer, who was quarantined in his hotel room for two weeks after a positive covid-19 test on his flight to Melbourne.

The younger brother Mikael Ymer, who is ranked 95th in the world, is up against 26-ranked Hubert Hurkacz from Poland.

On the women's side, the only Swedish hope is Rebecca Peterson against the Czech Marketa Vondrousova, 21st in the world.

Peterson himself is ranked 55th.

The Australian Open kicks off on Monday.
