A former Paralympic athlete interacted with elementary school students at a ski resort in Shiriuchi, Hokkaido.

This was held by the Shiriuchi Town Board of Education to let children know about the Paralympics competition, and on the 5th, Mr. Tetsuya Tanaka of Imabetsu Town, Aomori Prefecture, who participated in alpine skiing at the Paralympics Nagano Tournament despite losing his right leg. Visited a ski resort in Shiriuchi Town.



Mr. Tanaka first showed off how to ski while manipulating the skis with one foot, and the children applauded in a surprised manner.



After this, the children enjoyed skiing and interacting with Mr. Tanaka.



Tetsuya Tanaka said, "I want children to know that even if they lose one leg, they can ski if they make an effort, and realize that there are various possibilities. And I want them to see the Paralympic Games." It was.



A fifth grade boy who participated said, "I was surprised that I could slide better than I did. I was wondering why I could slide so well."
