For his part, the former national team coach, Dr. Abdullah Misfer, told "Emirates Today": "Despite the importance of the camp that will start today, the only negative point is not to play a friendly match, as the importance of the friendly match is that it gives a message of reassurance to the team besides Standing on his position, as well as on the coach's ideas.

He explained, "I was hoping that the national team would play a friendly match during this gathering so that the technical staff would be able to determine the readiness and harmony of the players, so that what happened to the team in previous periods of the absence of the required harmony between its players would not be repeated."

Al-Abyad plays in Group G, which includes Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, noting that the team is currently ranked fourth in the group’s standings with six points obtained by winning two matches against Malaysia and Indonesia, while it lost two matches against Thailand and Vietnam.
