Former Japan national football team Keisuke Honda has announced that he will join Portimonense in the Portuguese First Division.

34-year-old Honda joined Botafogo in the Brazilian 1st division last February, but he played in 18 league games and scored only two goals, and announced his intention to leave the team in December last year. ..

After that, a new transfer destination was attracting attention, but on the 4th, Honda announced that he would join Portimonense of the Portuguese 1st division league through voice distribution services and so on.

Portimonense is a team based in southern Portugal, currently ranked 12th in the league, and also includes Koki Anzai and Kosuke Nakamura, who have experience representing Japan.

Honda said on his Twitter account, "No matter how many achievements you have accumulated, the training will not change at all. I will continue to pursue its essence."

Honda has participated in the World Cup as a representative of Japan for three consecutive tournaments until the 2018 Russia tournament, and has been appointed as the actual manager of the Cambodian national team, taking command of the team while being an active player.
