The extraordinary conference of the RFU was held in accordance with a difficult epidemiological situation.

The official part began with the demonstration of videos with addresses from the heads of international federations - Gianni Infantino and Alexander Cheferin.

The head of FIFA thanked the leadership of the organization for the work done and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation in the future.

Today you are the only candidate for the presidency of the Russian Football Union, so now I can wish you all the best for your next term in office, which will begin soon.

I look forward to further collaboration with you and with your entire team, my sincere congratulations! "

In turn, Čeferin shared his expectations from the European Football Championship, a number of matches of which will be held in St. Petersburg, and also expressed confidence that Russia will adequately host both the Champions League final in 2022 and the match for the 2023 UEFA Super Cup.

“2021 will be the year of the European Championship.

And you, my friends, are its most important component - both as participants and as hosts.

I am extremely happy about this and am looking forward to the start of the tournament.

Football is one, it unites us.

Taking this opportunity, it is important for me to thank the Russian Football Union and its President Alexander Dyukov for all the support and invaluable cooperation with UEFA for the benefit of European football.

You have made great efforts and made a huge contribution to the further development of football in your wonderful country.

This hard work and dedication was praised and recognized when the beautiful city of St. Petersburg was chosen to host the Champions League final and Kazan became the host of the 2023 UEFA Super Cup.

I have no doubt that all this will lead to even greater victories for your football and your football union, "Čeferin expressed confidence.

After carrying out the necessary standard procedures, in particular, the selection of the secretary of the extraordinary conference, Dyukov himself took the floor.

The President of the RFU spoke about the tasks of the organization and presented the program for the development of football until 2030, of which the Our Smena project became a part.

The functionary noted that in the coming years it is planned to focus on grassroots and youth football.

“Over the past period, the RFU has managed to lay a management foundation, and we are ready to carry out the implementation of everything planned with increasing speed.

I'll start with the foundation of our football system - grassroots football.

Its development is the focus of our work for the next four years.

Now 2.1% of the population plays football in the country.

Our goal is to reach 4% of football players by 2025.

But we need to know each student, his interests and preferences, ”said Dyukov.

The issues of club football were also touched upon.

Dyukov said that the RFU is ready to help the leagues determine the target development model and format of the tournaments.

He also noted the need to increase the number of competitive matches and increase the density of the calendar.

As for the national teams, the results of the performance of the national teams in 2020 were summed up and the task was set to get into the top 10 of the FIFA rating.

As it became known long before the conference, Dyukov turned out to be an uncontested candidate for the post of RFU president.

In this regard, in order to be re-elected for the next four years, it was enough for him to gain the minimum number of votes.

However, no counting was required.

The delegates unanimously supported the current head of the union.

Despite the fact that recent years have been difficult, we have managed to do a lot.

We have an understanding of what needs to be done in the future.

We have created the foundation and platform for the implementation of the planned development projects.

In addition to the election of the head of the RFU, the executive committee of the organization was approved.

In addition to the previously formed single list of 25 people, according to special quotas, the head of the referee committee Ashot Khachaturyants and the chairman of the union's marketing committee Denis Solovyov were introduced to the committee.

Like Dyukov, both were supported by all the delegates.
