Naomi Osaka has the chance for her fourth Grand Slam title in Melbourne, where the Australian Open will soon start.

The 23-year-old has sailed up as the highest paid player on the women's side with several big sponsors behind him and has thus passed his rival and idol Serena Williams.

But Osaka still sees the American as the best player.

- I think I am one of the new ones ... But as long as she plays, she is the women's tennis, she says at a press conference according to Reuters.

Up to Williams' 23 Grand Slam titles, there is a long way to go, but should Osaka win the Australian Open for the second time, only the Williams sisters have won more of the active players.

Serena Williams is still chasing her 24th Grand Slam title, which would break Margaret Court's record.

- It is good to always have goals that you strive for and then you get to see what happens, Williams says.
