Robin Olsen had not started a league match since December 16 when he kept a clean sheet against Leicester.

But when Jordan Pickford injured himself earlier this week, the Swede had to start for his Everton away against Leeds on Wednesday night.

Everton also got off to a dream start when Icelander Gylfi Sigurdsson scored 1-0 after just under ten minutes of play.

A few minutes before the break, Dominic Calvert-Lewin would break his eight-match goal drought when he nodded in 2-0 on a corner.

His twelfth goal of the season.

Olsen with triple rescue

Olsen, however, would not be allowed to keep the zero, just a few minutes into the second half Raphinha was able to place the reduction.

But the Swede would get a real revenge a quarter of an hour later when he made four saves in just a couple of minutes.

At first he would save a triple when Leeds tried to force the ball in but the Swede stood on the stool and despite lying down he managed to get a hand up and repel a return that went out to a Leeds player, but then Olsen had gotten back on his feet and did a leg parade.

The attack after he would also steer away from a long shot that got a touch.

After the rescues, the 31-year-old needed a little plastering of one of his hands, but he was able to continue playing.

However, Leeds would not get any closer and Everton could hold off and win 2-1, something that you can thank the Swede for.

Swede jumped into Burnley

Earlier tonight, Manchester City took their ninth straight league victory when they defeated Brunley 2-0.

The goals were scored by Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling and City lead the league by three points ahead of Manchester United.

In Burnley, 22-year-old Swede Joel Mumbongo had to jump before the second match in a row when he came in with just over a quarter of an hour left and took on a warning ten minutes later.
