Jonas Jerebko makes a comeback in the national team when Sweden can secure a place in the European Basketball Championship 2022. The qualifying matches against the Netherlands and Turkey will be the 33-year-old's first in blue and yellow linen since another European Championship, namely the European Championships 2013.

- I left Russia around New Year, and have no club that can stop me.

And of course it is motivating to play for Sweden, says Jonas Jerebko to SVT Sport.

Jerebko and the Russian club Khimki recently broke the Swede's contract.

He then told Aftonbladet that it was because of the family.

Now the forward clarifies the reason behind the sudden breakup.

- They were late with payments, so they owe me quite a lot of money, says Jerebko.

How much?

- By Swedish standards, it is millions.

Of course, it's not fun to be in that seat.

It is up to the club to handle their stuff professionally, otherwise things like this happen.

The European Championship qualifiers against Turkey and the Netherlands will be decided on 20 and 22 February.
