“WADA was disappointed that the CAS, based on its own assessment of commensurability, decided not to apply all of the implications that WADA sought and not to remove for the entire four-year period.

However, the grounds for an appeal to the Swiss Federal Court are limited to such procedural issues as jurisdiction, the composition of the panel and the right to be heard.

The Swiss Federal Court does not examine the merits of the case and therefore will not interfere with the assessment made by the co-measurement panel.

As a result, following the unanimous advice of internal and external legal advisers, WADA is firmly convinced that an appeal would not be beneficial and decided to refrain from it, ”WADA's press service said in a statement.

In December 2020, WADA suspended Russia for four years from participating in international competitions with its national flag and anthem for manipulating the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory.

RUSADA was able to challenge this decision in CAS, and the suspension period was cut in half - until mid-December 2022.

Earlier it was reported that RUSADA will not challenge the CAS decision in the case against WADA.
