Several players in BK Heid have tested positive for covid-19.

Now the sports director and coach Christer Karlsson is working to postpone Friday's match against Skuru, which Göteborgs-Posten was the first to tell about.

- We have good contact with the associations in general so I assume that we solve it with Skuru as well, but I have not received any feedback, I talked to them last night, the sports manager up there.

Hopefully we can play that match on the 17th, Wednesday that week.

Would have liked more support

The message from the association has been that the match will be played, but that it is up to BK Heid and Skuru to agree on a possible match move.

Christer Karlsson wishes, however, that they could have received more support from the union.

- It is clear that I think it should be said, from the beginning, that of course we solve this.

Do not think about it, take care of you and we will fix a new date.

It would not have been so difficult, would it?

Christer Karlsson also emphasizes that it is not only handball that is affected.

Being infected also has an impact on the players' finances.

- I do not think it is wise that the association wants us to play.

I understand somewhere that the game must continue, but the pandemic must stand above everything else with infection control and so on.

We can not travel around the country and the kingdom.

One must also understand that these players, in Heid in particular, are amateurs.

They have some compensation for playing but no one is close to being able to make a living playing.

So they are dependent on their work and their studies and it is clear that if they become infected, it affects the players financially so there are many consequences of this.
