Liverpool coach: Van Dyck's return this season "almost impossible"

Liverpool coach, German Jürgen Klopp, admitted today that the return of the team's defense tycoon, Dutch Virgil van Dijk, who is recovering from a serious knee injury this season, will be almost impossible, and is a "miracle".

"No doctor has told me that Virgil will play again this season," he said on the eve of his team's match against Brighton in the Premier League. "I don't want to say it's impossible, but it's not likely."

"We have a place for him to register in the Champions League list. If we find a place for him in the Premier League list, we will add it to it," he added.

"If there is no place for him, then we must make a decision. If he is on the list, we hope for a miracle," he said.

Liverpool suffered from injuries, especially in its defense line, where Joe Gomez is absent until the end of the season, before the German coach confirmed the absence of Cameroonian Joel Matip until the end of the season also today after his injury was repeated recently.

Liverpool was forced to strengthen its ranks in this streak by contracting Preston defender Ben Davis and German defender Schalke, Turkish Ouzan Kabak on loan until the end of the current season.

Klopp revealed, "At the moment we are playing in the absence of four players occupying the center of defense, one of whom will return next week and that is Fabinho, who is basically a midfielder."

"There are solutions now and more options. It is an important opportunity for the players (Davis and Capac) and for us as well."

Liverpool are currently third in the league, four points behind leaders Manchester City, who have a postponed match.
